Following the success of Anna Nightingale's 22 carat gold leaf painting being selected to join the elite of the British Art scene at The Ivy restaurant in London's West End, her exciting new body of work is about to be launched with an exhibition from May 8th - June 6th at the Doyle Devere Gallery in fashionable Notting Hill Gate.
Entitled 'Come as I am', the new collection explores, what most aptly can be defined as 'landscapes of life' with Anna drawing on her personal experiences living between London and Gozo; a tiny island in the Mediterranean.
"They are revelations of concealed self-portrait chapters; autobiographies rendered not in words, but in form and colour; languages at times more powerful and comprehensible than aural and verbal discourse." Richard England, Internationally acclaimed, award winning architect and designer
The two main featured pieces have been exquisitely crafted using 22 carat gold leaf and platinum leaf with oil and ink on canvas. It is these two pieces that also seek to rejoice in an area that many are keen to shyly avoid; the female orgasm, whilst the rest of her works unravel stories derived from other aspects of her life in vibrant and sometimes tumultuous colourscapes.
"A great painting is not just a work of Art, each one is a story with it's own message. Anna Nightingale is a master story teller" A.J.Quinell, late international best selling author
This is an exciting time for Anna Nightingale to be launched on to the London art scene. Since graduating from Central St Martins College of Art & Design, Anna has become an acclaimed abstract expressionist outside of the UK with a string of successful exhibitions in Malta and the Middle East.
A keen supporter of charities, Anna has also contributed her artwork to 'The Vivienne Westwood Gold Label Event' (fundraising for the NSPCC) and Ronan Keatings 'Emerald and Ivy Ball' for Cancer research in 2008.
In addition, in February of this year (2010) Anna's 22 carat gold with crushed opal painting entitled "9.55 a.m" was auctioned as part of a fundraising event for Haiti at the Club at The Ivy. Her work created one of the biggest bidding wars of the evening and raised more funds for the Haiti than a Tracey Emins print.

A 22 carat gold painting by Anna has been selected as part of The Ivy's new collection of modern art in their Private Room. Since The Ivy's reincarnation in the 1990, the restaurant has always maintained a very close relationship with contemporary artists. Indeed, much of the restaurant's artwork comprises site-specific commissions from the likes of Tom Phillips, Alan Jones and the late Eduardo Paolozzi. Other top artists include Maggi Hambling,Tracy Emin and Damien Hurst.
The new collection of art on display in the The Ivy's Private Room is part of a refurbishment programme to bring the room up to the same exciting and modern standards of the restaurant downstairs and the club upstairs.
All of the new art (with one small exception) is by contemporary London-based artists. Anna Nightingale's 120x120cm, gold leaf, acrylic, oil and ink painting can be found hanging proudly above the grand piano, sharing a space with some of London's most hotly tipped painters such as Sebastian Horsley, Pure Evil and Michael Landy.
